Chillon Castle offers an exclusive installation on medieval tableware, and the customs of the court of Savoy and in Chillon. You can discover recipes from Master Chiquart, cook to Amadeus VIII of Savoy, learn why children drank wine and what kinds of food acted as markers of the three social strata: oratores, bellatores and laboratores. An exhibition catalogue is on sale at the castle shop, as well as a limited edition medieval cuvées, a white and a red (flavored wine-based drinks), and a hop-free beer called the Cervoise de Chillon, all of which were created for ‘Mouthwatering’ using medieval recipes.
