Tour with guide in medieval costume

Your guide in period dress will take you on a fantastic journey through time and space at Chillon, uncovering the mysteries behind hidden passageways, the underground Gothic vaulted ceilings and the prison where the famous Bonivard was kept.

Experience this Vaudois castle through the eyes of a servant, a Bernese constable or even a duchess of Savoy!

Tour followed by castle wine tasting

Following your tour, why not gather around for a friendly glass of our white Clos de Chillon, made from grapes grown in the castle’s very own vineyard.

Locally produced bread ‘flutes’ add the finishing touches to this regional aperitif known as the ‘verrée vaudoise’.

Sink your teeth into a real gourmet taster of sumptuous castle life and leave with a souvenir Chillon glass!

This wine tasting tour was just one of the reasons Chillon Castle Foundation won first prize at the Swiss Wine Tourism Awards in 2017. Syrups and mineral water can also be provided for under 16s or for non-drinkers. You’ll even get a souvenir ‘Chillon’ cup to take home (1 per child).

Guided tour of temporary exhibition

Official guide in themed costume
Chillon is steeped in history, art and landscapes that have enchanted visitors since time immemorial, including great artists such as Courbet, Flaubert, Rousseau, Gogol to name a few… Follow the red thread through the castle rooms to uncover a strong theme fit for a stronghold. Only available during temporary exhibitions.

Latest exhibition: from the 14th of September 2023 to the 14rd of April 2024 for “Fortunes and reflections in the era of Peter II of Savoy“

Café Byron has a selection of catering offers available for groups of 15 or more, before or after a castle tour; treat yourself to a pick-me-up, with a morning or afternoon coffee break in the enchanting setting of Café Byron.

If you’re pressed for time, take-away picnic packages are also available.

Catering packages are provided in connection with a castle tour and must be booked in advance.

Family Drako Tour in Mandarin

Get ready to conquer the castle with a map specially designed for you! Let Drako, the little Chillon Castle dragon, show you around our magnificent rooms.

Accompanied by our private guide, set off with your family in search of Drako’s ancestors and discover the mysteries of the castle.

Only official Chillon Castle guides are authorised to show groups around the monument.

Please confirm your arrival time and the number of people in your group 48 hours in advance.

Please arrive on time.

We kindly request you inform us of any delays as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your group, however, if you are delayed by 15 minutes or more, the guided tour will be shortened or cancelled, but you will still be charged in full.
