An imaginary Playmobil® museum

An imaginary Playmobil® museum

From 7 February to 25 May 2014

French photographer and film maker Richard Unglik has taken great artworks from throughout history – the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, Guernica – and transformed them into Playmobil® scenes. He brings the famous figurines to life by dressing them in costumes and accessories taken from the famous paintings. Once he has carefully photographed each element, he uses graphic design software to complete the reconstruction. The 20 large format images of this imaginary museum were then put on display in the Coat of Arms Hall.

Children and grown-ups enjoyed seeing the three giant models made with real Playmobil® toys in the Anken Room: a fortified castle and two Swiss landscapes made by Bruno Peeters, a Belgian model maker also known by his pseudonym Brubil.
