Dissecting/Dressing Chillon A story told through our collections

18 September 2025 - 26 April 2026

Temporary exhibition

The exhibition Dissecting/Dressing Chillon tells the story of the castle through its collections and offers a unique rediscovery of the fortress of Lake Geneva, between history, traces and staging.

A living monument, Chillon stands at the crossroads of two conceptions of heritage: should the site be stripped to reveal its architecture, or enriched with objects and decor to revive its memory? Over time, restorers, archaeologists and collectors have alternately favored one approach or the other.

Today, these visions come together: furniture, archaeological discoveries and unusual pieces resonate with the castle walls.
