Autumn program

Summer is coming to an end and giving way to autumn. If the leaves on the trees are changing colour, the Chillon Castle team is still hard at work to welcome you with pleasure and a smile.

Our programme offers events of very different sizes. They allow you to discover the fortress and its history from different angles. Whether alone, accompanied∙e∙s or as a family, we look forward to welcoming you.

Temporary exhibition

CAROLINE TSCHUMI – Illuminated Princesses

09 September.2022 – 19 February 2023

FR EN DE

Chillon Castle has given the artist Caroline Tschumi the freedom to paint or draw countesses or duchesses of the Savoy family, who ruled over the fortress of Lake Geneva in the Middle Ages. She gives a second life to these historical figures whose lives were anything but rosy, far from the clichés conveyed in films or cartoons. If you want to know which princess had the most children or who was the best musician, you will find all the answers throughout the exhibition… in works full of fascinating details!

A children’s trail and mediation modules for children allow families to discover these portraits in a fun way.

Admission at no extra charge

Guided tour available on request.

FAMILY DAY AT THE MUSEUM

5-6 November (10AM-6PM)

As every year, Chillon Castle is pleased to participate in this event in partnership with the other museums of the Vaud Riviera. For two days, the artist Caroline Tschumi accompanies and helps families to create together a unique work, inspired by her personal universe and the temporary exhibition dedicated to her: “Caroline Tschumi – Illuminated Princesses“. This moment of sharing allows them to discover and experiment, through her contact, the techniques she used… while letting themselves be inspired, like her, by the enchanting setting of the fortress, as protected∙e within it.

At the end of the workshop, families take their creation home with them.

Workshops: CHF 20 per family

This workshop is a noble and enriching plunge into the unique universe of Caroline Tschumi and the very particular link she has woven with the Chillon Castle. This activity takes place rain or shine.
