PRICESHow much does admission cost?
Castle admission for individual visitors is 12.50 CHF for adults and 6 CHF for children. You will find information on prices and various discounts on this webpage.

Yes, you can buy tickets online. You can buy tickets up to three months in advance here !
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets can be bought directly from Chillon Castle, online via our website or as part of our various partner offers.
Do I need to buy my ticket in advance?
No. You can buy your ticket upon arrival at Chillon Castle.
What currencies and payment types are accepted at Chillon Castle?
You can pay in Swiss francs, euros or American dollars. We accept Maestro and Postcard debit cards, as well as American Express, Eurocard, JCB, Mastercard and Visa credit cards. We also accept REKA cheques. We do not accept bank cheques or travellers’ cheques.

Can I book a guided tour on arrival?
No. Guided tours must be booked at least two days in advance, by emailing email@example.com or filling out our online form !
All bookings must be confirmed by our booking department.

How long does a guided tour last?
Guided tours last between 50 and 80 minutes, depending on the option you have selected.
Are audioguides available?
Yes. Audioguides can be loaned for 6 CHF with no need to book. They are available in French, German, English, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Korean. You can also download the audioguide using the Chillon mobile app for 3 CHF.
Are there items to see in the rooms?
As an exceptional heritage monument, Chillon Castle has around 300 items on display throughout. These are divided into three main categories: weapons and armour, chests and archaeological objects.

Chillon Castle is open every day of the year, with the exception of 1st January and 25th December.
April to September : 9am to 7pm (last entry 6pm)
October to March : 9:30am to 6pm (last entry 5pm)
How long does the average visit last?
We recommend spending between 1 and 2 hours at the castle.
Does Chillon have a cloakroom or storage lockers?
Small and medium lockers are available in the cafeteria. A deposit of 1 CHF is required to lock away your belongings (limited lockers).
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately, animals are not permitted on the castle grounds. There are kennels available by the Bazar.
How can I get to the castle?
The castle is easy to get to by car, train, bus, boat or on foot.
Is there a car park?
Parking is available for 3 hours in front of Chillon Castle. You must collect a permit, available from the ticket office free of charge.
Is there a café?
Chillon Castle currently only has a rest area with vending machines. Two local restaurants opposite the castle are happy to host castle visitors:

Chillon Castle’s Café Byron cafeteria pavilion will be open for business from 2020.
Can I buy souvenirs?
Chillon Castle has two shops where you can buy some lovely keepsakes: the Boutique, inside the castle, which offers a wide range of books and toys, as well as must-have Chillon souvenirs; and the Bazar, outside the castle, which offers an assortment of tourist tokens as well as chocolate, ice cream and sweets.
Is the castle accessible to all?
Chillon Castle is not fully wheelchair accessible and is not suitable for prams (please bring a baby carrier). We have two audiovisual screens in the cafeteria which offer a virtual tour of the castle, as well as eight themed mini films.
Can I smoke in the castle grounds?
No. Once you cross the drawbridge, smoking is no longer permitted.
Can I use my camera and/or drone?
You can use your camera anywhere in the castle. However, selfie sticks are not permitted within the castle, and drones cannot be flown over Chillon Castle grounds.

Do I need to sign up beforehand?
Certain events require a booking. This will always be stated on the event page.
Can I throw my child’s birthday party at Chillon Castle?
Yes. Children aged 4 to 12 can celebrate their birthday at the castle on Wednesdays and Saturdays (booking required). There are four different themes to choose from. Each party includes 1 hour of entertainment plus refreshments in the heart of the castle. For further information, follow this link !
WINEWhat wine is made at Chillon Castle?
The Chillon Castle Foundation has its own vineyard, located nearby, as well as 40 wine barrels stored in the cellars. Our wine – the Clos de Chillon, available in white and red – is made right here in the castle. For further details, see the link !
Where can I buy this wine?
The Clos de Chillon is exclusive to Chillon Castle and can only be bought in the Boutique or the Bazar. You can also order the wine online here or by emailing email@example.com.
Our partner, Badoux Vins based in Aigle, produce another wine variety – Réserve de la Fondation. This is on sale at Badoux Vins and at the castle when the Clos de Chillon is out of stock.
Can I sample the wine?
We take bookings for various group wine-tasting tour packages, which include a guided tour of the castle followed by a Chillon wine-tasting session. For further information and prices, follow this link.
