An imaginary museum of Playmobil®

07.02 - 25.05.2014

The French photographer and film maker Richard Unglik has taken History of Art’s great works and made Playmobil® scenarios out of them.

The French photographer and film maker Richard Unglik has taken History of Art’s great works and made Playmobil® scenarios out of them – the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, Guernica, etc. He brings the famous figurines to life by dressing them in costumes and accessories taken from the famous paintings. Once he has carefully photographed each element, he uses graphics software to complete the reconstitution. The twenty large format images of this imaginary museum were on view in the Hall of Coats-of-Arms.

Young, and older visitors too, also enjoyed seeing the three giant models made with real Playmobil® toys in the Anken Room: a fortified castle and two Swiss panoramas made Bruno Peeters, a Belgian also known by his pseudonym Brubil.
