With a beautiful lemon yellow colour with golden tones, Clos de Chillon has a bouquet of inimitable fresh notes mainly of aniseed, along with fresh lime flowers and a slightly diluted verbena fragrance which finally reveals the sweetness of honeycomb. All these aromas are combined over discrete and elegant fresh vanilla.
On the palate a fruity and subtle smoky note emerges, with a round, soft structure enhanced by its viscosity and smoothness.
The castle’s Chasselas wine won a silver award in the special vinification category at the Mondial du Chasselas, which took place in the spring of 2014 at Aigle Castle.
Clos de Chillon can be served as an aperitif wine or to accompany fish or vegetable terrines, mixed warm and cold salads, trout meunière, lake perch fillets, asparagus in butter sauce, as well as kidneys, veal blanquette or chicken in sauce. It also goes well with hard cheeses.
Clos de Chillon blanc 2016 wins in 2018 the Silver Medal at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in Beijing.
