Reservations for school groups are mandatory, with or without a guided tour. The teachers must register in advance using the booking form on the right to tell us their arrival time, the number and the age of the participants, and full contact details of the school.

If you are planning your school excursion in May, June or July, we highly recommend you contact us as quickly as possible so that we can welcome you to Chillon Castle on the dates and at the times you prefer, as these are extremely busy months.

For this reason we accept neither pre-bookings nor double bookings. Thank you for your understanding.

If possible, we kindly ask you to schedule your visit to the castle before mid-May or in the autumn. From June to September the castle is "under attack" by large numbers of visitors, so it is best to avoid the busiest time.

To see the castle in good conditions, we advise you to schedule your visit at the following times:

  • Mornings: 09:00 – 10:00
  • Lunch hour: 11:30 – 13:00
  • Afternoons: from 16:00

We recommend that teachers visit the castle at their ease prior to the school outing. Our guides are at your disposal to assist you. Ask at the Ticket Office or Information to see if a guide is available.

Only official guides are entitled to guide within the premises of the Castle of Chillon.

To prepare the visit, we recommend reading the didactic file.
