2nd of November 2010 to 28th of February 2011 - Temporary Exhibition « Lights on the lake »

Chillon Castle will exhibit Laurent Geslin’s most beautiful photographs of the life of Lake Geneva.

Laurent Geslin is a photographer who currently lives in London. He has studied History of Art and is passionate about images and light. In his work he tries to control light to highlight a detail and then to create an atmosphere playing with blocks of colours and refining the lines of the work. “Lake Geneva is like a picture that changes every day. All you have to do is wait for the right background and then add your personal touch,” says the artist.

However, Laurent Geslin’s work is not merely aesthetic searching. His passion for the living world around us and his commitment to the environment have been the motor for his journey’s throughout the world as witness to inevitability of Man’s destruction of the planet. “Lake Geneva is a microcosm of what is happening around the world on a larger scale. Every human aggression has repercussions elsewhere and upsets the entire life-chain,” he adds.

His exhibition “Lumières de lac” is both real and poetic, in an attempt to prompt a broad public to view the lake as a complex and fragile ecosystem, not just a vast leisure site.
