Chillon's visitors

In 2009, we received 313'125 visitors !

Among them, 28 % Swiss (21% de Swiss-French, 6% Swiss-German, 1% de Swiss-Italian) and 72 % coming from the rest of the world (Europa 42 %, Asia 8 %, North-America 17 %, Sud-America + Africa + Oceania 5 %).

The biggest day in 2009 was on December 6th, with 2'938 visitors, the weakest day was on January 20th, with 72 visitors.

Chillon's staff

In high season, the foundation of the Castle of Chillon employs 42 people (which corresponds to 22 full-time positions): gardener, electrician, tinsmith, carpenter, janitor, guards, cashiers, guides, reception staff and administrative staff. 16 nationalities are represented among the staff of Chillon.

The 20 Chillon guides lead tours around 3,000 per year, in French, English, German, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Stars

In the guestbook of Chillon, we can find the signatures of the following celebrities whose visit have honored us: the Queen Elizabeth II, Quincy Jones, Henri Salvador, Dali, and several Presidents of the Confederation (the most recent visit being that of Pascal Couchepin on March 13th, 2008), Princess Maria Gabriella of Savoy, the actor Rupert Everett, the singer Stefan Eicher and the writer Philippe Djian.
